Merchant Cash Advance

A purchase of future business receivables can provide upfront working capital. Understand the total purchased amount, remittance method, and cash-flow impact before proceeding.

Product Overview

Capital with a clear purpose

Businesses with consistent card or other receivables that need capital for a defined, near-term business purpose.

Synergy Capital helps business owners explore financing options and understand the structure presented. An MCA is a purchase of future receivables, not a loan. Availability, amounts, factor rates, fees, and terms depend on underwriting and the funder’s approval and are not guaranteed.

Select programs use an owner performance guarantee (also called a validity or performance guaranty) rather than a full personal guarantee of repayment. It generally covers the owner’s representations and covenants under the agreement—not an absolute promise to repay if ordinary business receipts decline. Availability is subject to qualification and underwriting.

01

How it works

A funder purchases an agreed amount of future receivables and delivers an upfront purchase price. The agreement specifies the purchased amount and how receivables are delivered, often through scheduled ACH remittances or a share of card sales.

02

Repayment

Remittances may be daily or weekly. Some agreements include reconciliation provisions that can adjust remittances when receipts decline; read the conditions and process carefully. A fixed scheduled debit does not necessarily change automatically with sales.

03

Cost

Pricing is commonly expressed with a factor rate rather than an interest rate. Multiply the purchase price by the factor to estimate the base purchased amount, then add any disclosed fees. Because an MCA is not a traditional loan, APR is not always presented; ask for disclosures that let you compare cost.

Common business uses

A sound use of proceeds connects the financing to a specific operating need and a credible repayment plan.

Bridge a receivables gap

Cover operating expenses while waiting for customer payments or card settlements.

Purchase inventory

Fund stock intended to turn into revenue within a period that supports the remittance schedule.

Handle an immediate expense

Address a repair or time-sensitive obligation after confirming the business can carry the payments.

Diligence

What to review in the agreement

These questions help you compare actual obligations, not just headline amounts. Request the final documents and take time to review them before signing.
