United Parcel Service Inc. (NYSE: UPS) plans to invest $18 on solar energy installations at least eight of its facilities by the end of 2017.
The Atlanta-based package shipper said the investment will provide a nearly five-fold increase in the amount of power generated from solar at UPS facilities today.
UPS will buy more than 26,000 solar panels during the expansion. Once installed, each building will produce 50 percent of its daily energy use through the sun.
