Old Dominion Freight Line
Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. helped four Major League Baseball teams prepare for spring training by hauling equipment for three to Florida and Arizona.
The New York Mets held an open house Feb. 3 to celebrate with mascots Mr. and Mrs. Met as the trailer was filled and the truck departed from Queens to Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The less-than-truckload carrier also attended ceremonies to load and move the Los Angeles Angels and the Kansas City Royals to their spring training homes in Tempe and Surprise, Arizona.
Old Dominion won’t be moving the Chicago White Sox to Glendale, Arizona, but it did move the team’s equipment from ballpark Guaranteed Rate Field to the Hilton Chicago for the celebration.
“We are proud to continue our partnership with MLB teams across the country and are excited for the 2017 season to begin,” said David Carter, vice president of marketing and communications.
The Thomasville, North Carolina ,company also has sponsorship deals with the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs, although it doesn’t include transportation services.
Old Dominion ranks No. 11 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
