The Texas Transportation Commission approved billions of dollars worth of additional projects at a meeting March 28, and Houston is getting a major chunk.

The Houston Chronicle reports$8.9 billion has been approved for 230 projects statewide as part of Texas’ unified transportation plan, which is updated in phases each year. The plan guides the state’s highway, maritime and aviation spending.
