Panera Bread Co. (NASDAQ: PNRA) announced this week that it is massively expanding its delivery service to 40 percent of its cafes and will hire 10,000 new employees. But Panera’s path to delivery was paved with choices made years ago with its 2.0 technology, which launched in 2014, that allowed customers to order via kiosk and smartphone.
