Campbell Soup Co. Begins Construction on $40 Million Ohio Facility

Campbell Soup Co. began construction on a $40 million distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, on Aug. 8, which DHL Supply Chain will operate as the third-party logistics provider.

The 740,000 square-foot-building will be the third that DHL will manage for the soup maker; the others are in Southern California and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The building will serve as the Midwest hub for distribution of core Campbell products, including Campbell’s soups, Swanson broth and stock, V8 beverages, Pace, Prego and Plum Organics.

Campbell will create about 220 jobs at the location, set to open next spring.

“Campbell is investing approximately $40 million in building and land and $4 million in machinery and equipment. The Midwest Distribution Center in Findlay will be an important part of Campbell’s national distribution network as it is a great location to bring products closer to our customers as well as to truck and rail transportation hubs,” the company wrote in a release.

DHL Supply Chain ranks No. 4 on the Transport Topics Top 50 list of the largest logistics companies in North America.
