Intel Corp.’s Mobileye team will build a fleet of 100 self-driving vehicles, with the company’s first autonomous autos hitting the road later this year.
The vehicles will be Level 4 autonomous — capable of navigating most driving situations without human touch. The news comes a day after Intel completed its acquisition of Mobileye, which makes cameras, sensors and software that allow vehicles to determine its surroundings. The $15.3 billion acquisition was Intel’s second-largest to date.
