North Texas’ two major airlines both posted increases in boardings Wednesday, but the carriers split on how full their planes were.
Fort Worth-based American Airlines Group (Nasdaq: AAL) reported record traffic in July. But load factor, or the percentage seats filled, declined slightly as capacity growth outpaced the traffic increase.
Dallas-based Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) reported a traffic increase of 6 percent in July and a load factor of 87.3 percent versus 86.9 percent a year ago.
