First there was the three-year project to replace deteriorating water pipes beneath Eastern Parkway and other roads in the Highlands.
Now comes a weeklong closure of a stretch of Eastern Parkway — starting tonight — for bridge repairs.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says parts of the bridge over the South Fork of Beargrass Creek are failing because of subsoil conditions. The roadway has settled more than 4 inches, according to a news release.
The bridge is just east of Poplar Level Road.…
