Here’s some welcome news for local travelers. The cost of flying out of Charlotte Douglas International Airport dropped nearly 10% in the first three months of this year.
Average airfare, as tracked on a quarterly basis by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics — a branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation — fell to $416.99 in the first quarter at CLT in the first quarter, down from an inflation-adjusted $461.06 during the same time period in 2016.
