A $3.5 million contract means smoother commutes on the U.S. 70 Bypass in Johnston County.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation announced late Thursday that it had awarded a $3.5 million contract to Fred Smith Company of Raleigh.
The contract is for milling and resurfacing 9.6 miles of the bypass in each direction between Sadisco Road and the Wake County line.
