A big transportation spending package for Oregon is still on course, although in slimmed-down form.
Details haven’t been released, but the Register-Guard reported that negotiations among top party leaders and the governor’s office have resulted in an agreement that would trim collections from new taxes and fees to $4 billion from $8.2 proposed earlier.
Gas taxes and vehicle registration fees would still go up, but not by as much. Likewise with levies on bicycle and new-car sales.
