After entering the Cuba market with much fanfare, Southwest Airlines is downscaling its flight schedule to the island, pulling out of two of the three Cuban cities it serves.
Dallas-based Southwest (NYSE: LUV) will cease operations in both Varadero and Santa Clara on Sept. 4 and concentrate its future service to Cuba in Havana, the company announced today. The discontinuation will come less than a year after service to Varadero and Santa Clara began.
