Shipping between the Mainland and Hawaii could be impacted or even shut down due to a potential strike of union workers.

Honolulu-based Matson Inc. has been unable to reach new contract agreements with the sailors and fireman unions, according to a Honolulu Star-Advertiser report.

According to the report, Matson handles roughly two-thirds of all goods shipped to the state.
