By nearly 80 percent, downtown Sacramento property owners have voted to impose an assessment on their properties to pay for a streetcar system.
In results released Wednesday by the Sacramento city clerk’s office, 250 owners, or 79.6 percent, voted in favor of the assessment in the mail-ballot election. Sixty-four owners, or 20.38 percent, voted against the assessment, which needed a two-thirds majority to pass.
