A gunman in San Francisco shot five people, leaving two dead, NBC News reported on Wednesday.
NBC also reported that the attacker is down.
A UPS spokesman confirmed to the Associated Press that there was a shooting at a package delivery facility in San Francisco and that the shooter was an employee.
UPS spokesman Steve Gaut said Wednesday that he believed the shooter “turned the gun on himself” but did not have additional information.
San Francisco police advised people to avoid the area.
The suspect was hospitalized in police custody, local media reported.
Victims were taken to the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, spokesman Brent Andrew said. He said he could not say how many patients were taken to the hospital or give their conditions.
A San Francisco police representative could not immediately be reached for comment.
