Travis Kalanick, co-founder and CEO of Uber Technologies Inc., is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the embattled ride-hailing company, which is dealing today with the recommendations of an investigation into its workplace culture.
Kalanick told Uber staff about his decision in a company-wide memo. He cited his mother’s recent death in a boating accident, and said he needs time to reflect on himself and work on building Uber’s leadership.
