Columbus’ airport could get nearly $500,000 to help it cover the costs of changing its name to honor an Ohio legend.

John Glenn Columbus International Airport is up for $455,000 to support expenses related to its renaming from Port Columbus International Airport last year.

The boost, under the purview of the Ohio Department of Transportation, comes as the Ohio Senate introduced its two-year state budget plan on Monday.
