Social media has allowed brands to interact with their customers like never before – this much is true. But while the customer service and advertising processes have benefited greatly from its use, the ability to send direct messages to favorite brands has also resulted in some hilarity – at least in the case of The Standard hotel chain. The brand’s Instagram account has apparently been the recipient of more than a few strange interactions over recent months, some of which have been shared in a recent blog post.
