What to Watch For: Three Big Reasons to Stay Tuned
• James B. Comey, the former director of the F.B.I., will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee at 10 a.m. Eastern time. It will be the first of three major events on a day analysts are calling Triple-Threat Thursday.
• British voters cast their ballots in nationwide parliamentary elections. An early indication of the results will come via an exit poll at 10 p.m. in Britain (5 p.m. Eastern), after voting has concluded.
• The European Central Bank’s policy-setting committee will meet. Investors do not expect any change to the eurozone’s benchmark interest rate, but will be watching for any change in rhetoric.
• Yahoo shareholders will vote on the sale of the company’s internet businesses to Verizon Communications for about $4.5 billion, a transaction that they are almost certain to approve.
