The attackers first drove into pedestrians on London Bridge on Saturday, then headed to Borough Market before being shot by police. At least seven were killed and 48 injured following the attack. Twelve individuals have already been arrested in the wake of the attack, which the Metropolitan Police is being treating as a terrorist incident.

The British pound traded as low as $1.845 compared to levels around $1.879 seen before the weekend. Cable traded at $1.2864 at 6:40 a.m. HK/SIN.

Dow Jones industrial average futures shed 10 points or 0.05 percent to trade at 21,193 at 6:45 a.m. HK/SIN, compared to the index’s last close of 21,206.29.

In Asia, Japanese futures pointed to a lowed open on Monday. Nikkei futures in Chicago and Osaka were both down 0.18 percent to trade at 20,140, compared to last Friday’s close of 20,177.28.

Australian SPI futures ticked higher by 0.15 percent to trade at 5,797 against the S&P/ASX 200’s last close of 5,788.114.

New Zealand markets are closed for a holiday.

Stateside, Wall Street closed at record highs after the release of May non-farm payrolls despite job creation coming in at 138,000 compared to the 185,000 forecast. The Dow Jones industrial average closed higher by 0.29 percent or 62.11 points at 21,206.29, the S&P 500 added 0.37 percent or 9.01 points to finish at 2,439.07 and the Nasdaq soared 0.94 percent or 58.97 points to end the session at 6,305.80.

On the economic calendar today is the release of Caixin services PMI data for the month of May, which is due at 9:45 a.m. HK/SIN.
