Honolulu-based Matson Inc. will increase the frequency of its South Pacific Express service to Samoa and American Samoa from 28 days to 14 days.
The shipping company launched the SPX service last August, which services the U.S. West Coast, Hawaii and the Samoas.
The company said the new schedule is made possible by the acquisition of a larger, faster vessel which it has named “Samoana.”
