The 305-foot-long luxury vessel “Mayan Queen IV” (MQIV) loomed large as it paused in the waters at Ballard’s Hiram M. Chittenden Locks on May 25, an awe-inspiring sight that had people on foot and bicycles buzzing as the ship waited its turn. Many of them clapped and cheered as it made its way through the locks on its first trip to Seattle.
