Caltrain officials are sounding more optimistic that their $1.9 billion electrification project is about to get the last remaining funds it needs to begin work.
President Trump’s Fiscal Year 2018 budget proposal is expected to be released Tuesday and, according to Caltrain spokesman Seamus Murphy, Transportation Sec. Elaine Chao said there will be funding for agreements like the $647 million grant for Caltrain.
