American Airlines is about to make flying more cramped for passengers, CNN reports.
The airline wants to boost the number of seats on its Boeing 737 Max jetliners and plans to reduce the legroom between seats from 31 inches to 29 inches on three rows. The remaining economy seats, with the exception of “Main Cabin Extra,” will have 30 inches between seats. In comparison, low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines has 28 inches of legroom between seats.
