Orlando’s growing population is looking forward to completion of the big Interstate 4 upgrade-and-enhancement project, which is expected to reduce congestion and add more access points along 21 miles of one of Central Florida’s busiest roadway corridors.

But a proposed project that would carry that enhancement beyond the existing $2.3 billion I-4 Ultimate’s boundaries — stretching the project to a total of 40 miles — may come with a caveat for businesses in its path: a need for more land.
