Advocates of less-restrictive statewide ridesharing regulations expect few speed bumps this session now that the relevant piece of legislation, Rep. Chris Paddie’s House Bill 100, is set to reach the floor on Wednesday.
When the House considered ridesharing regulations in 2015, only two states had such regulatory frameworks. Today, Texas could be the 41st, or possibly even the 42nd, state to approve such laws, depending on whether Florida beats the Lone Star State to the finish line this session.
