UPI has announced two new products for the 2017 season. The company, which specializes in post-patent products, will be the first to offer S-metolachlor – the active ingredient in Dual Magnum herbicide. Called Moccasin, the product is labeled for a wide range of crops including soybeans, cotton, peanuts, potatoes, sugar beets and corn. The second new product is Shutdown which is a soil-applied, long-residual herbicide designed to be used alone or in a tankmix. Planet and FarmShots have teamed up to offer users of the John Deere Operation center access to Planet’s global imaging capacity. The company claims to operate the largest constellation of Earth-imaging satellites. FarmShots analyzes satellite and drone imagery of farms to help reduce field scouting effort by up to 90%. The partnership will allow users of the John Deere Operation Center to more quickly product prescription maps. With access, users can import field boundaries into FarmShots directly from Operations Center; export the plant health data layer to Field Analyzer; generate prescription maps for GreenStar 2630 displays; and compare plant health with yield maps year to year. There are two new grapples in the Worksaver family – the SATG or Sweep Action Tine Grapple (shown); and the SASB or Sweep Action Solid Bottom Construction Grapple.
