Alaska Air Group Inc. will hang on to two gates it acquired at Dallas Love Field through the carrier’s acquisition of Virgin America.

Virgin, which Seattle-based Alaska acquired last year, offers nonstop flights to five cities from two gates at city-owned Love Field. The airport is dominated by Dallas-based Southwest Airlines, which controls 18 of its 20 gates and would like to take over more.
