Sir Richard Branson’s “hissy-fit” in Seattle smacks of hypocrisy, a Puget Sound aerospace analyst said.
During a recent visit to Seattle, Branson said he was baffled and saddened by Alaska Air Group Inc.’s decision to drop the Virgin American brand after buying the airline for $2.6 billion. The British billionaire accused SeaTac-based Alaska Airlines of “ripping the heart out of” Virgin America, of which he was a minority shareholder before the takeover.
