The CEO of industrial powerhouse General Electric says Republicans need to shape up or ship out in recent comments during a Manhattan luncheon, Reuters reports.

GE CEO Jeffrey Immeltsays politicians will get “thrown out” in the next election if tax reform is not achieved. If a Republican-led government cannot achieve tax reform, Immelt reportedly said, “why have the Republican party?”

Immelt also reiterated the importance of U.S.-China relationships, saying that was his biggest political and economic concern. He said the U.S. still has much to gain from globalization.

Reuters reports Immelt made the comments during a Wings Club event, an aviation industry forum.
