The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority has established a preferred bus rapid transit route between downtown St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach.
It plans to send a draft environmental report to the Federal Transit Administration next month.
The project is expected to be a boon to the region by better connecting visitors to two major tourism attractors — the Gulf beaches and downtown St. Pete’s robust museum, restaurant and bar scene.
