David Pointer was at Tampa International Airport on Thursday waiting to catch his plane back to Gary, Indiana after he had driven a truck with generators down here to help out with Hurricane Irma.

“I started driving 2 p.m. Saturday,” Pointer said. His 26-foot truck had food and generators. When he got to Pensacola, he met with a convoy of about a dozen other trucks carrying supplies ahead of the massive storm.
