Baltimore’s bike share system will be temporarily shut down later this week for about a month while stops and bikes undergo a series of security improvements.
The Department of Transportation announced in a release Tuesday that the city will be carrying out “maintenance and equipment upgrades in advance of the program’s one-year anniversary.” Baltimore Bike share will be taken offline starting Sept. 17, and operations are expected to resume by Oct. 15.
