The Jacksonville Transportation Authority board of directors voted unanimously Aug. 31 to approve an autonomous vehicle test track pilot project, which will be operational this fall.
The board’s approval empowers JTA’s CEO Nat Ford to reach an agreement with the city on the specifics of an AV test track. JTA expects the track to run near Metropolitan Park, possibly from Intuition to Daily’s Place.
